The 78th Annual Hayward Chamber of Commerce Awards Celebration Gala will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 26. It will be a hybrid event at which honorees, their families, and event sponsors will be in the conference center at Life Chiropractic College West.
The event will be live-streamed and there will be an in-person option allowing attendance at the event, including dinner.
To enforce social distancing, the chamber will keep in-person attendance below 200, in a conference hall than can hold twice that number.
Tickets are $25 to watch the event by live streaming. To attend in-person, the cost will be $75 per person or $145 for a couple. Tickets are now available HERE.
Honoring Hayward's Heroes
Guests of honor at the gala will be Business Person of the Year Aaron Ortiz (photo above), CEO of La Familia; Educator of the Year Luis Garcia, principal of Longwood Elementary School; Police Officer of the Year, detective Nate Scinto; and Firefighter of the Year, apparatus operator Anthony Conte.
"They follow in a tradition of past recipients who have selflessly made contributions to Hayward that have made it such a great place to live and work.," said Hayward Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Kim Huggett.
Gala Auction Will Feature Great Values
The annual gala auction will still be offered, with proceeds going to support the event and other chamber outreach efforts such as Leadership Hayward.
Businesses or organizations that are able to contribute items to the annual auction are asked to contact Susan at the chamber, susanoc@hayward.org, 510-537-2424.
